Sky Science recently opened a new parachute centre close to Albecete, which is located west of Valencia on the east coast.

Allan Hewitt is better known in the UK and has been teaching students to skydive for over 20 years, as well as specialising in parachute equipment as a Rigger Examiner teaching experience skydivers to pack and maintain parachute equipment. Allan is also a Powered Parachute Instructor, and teaches this when not parachuting. Allan is currently a member of the British National Parachute Team.

Skydive Spain is a full time parachute centre who offer the following:

Tandem Skydive Courses – Accelerated Free Fall courses – Freefall Video and stills – Progression courses in Formation Skydiving, Canopy formation skydiving, Free Fly, and powered parachute courses. We also offer specialised equipment courses and parachute displays into any type of event.

Allan worked on the latest James Bond film "Die Another day" Allan has a credit on the film as Parachute Coordinator and the team have a credit on the film as Team X which is the British national competition team and Sky Science has a credit with the Aerial Unit.

We designed a new extremely small, single person aircraft, with in-flight variable swept wings, which was flown by Pierce Brosnan and Halle Berry in the film. (Actually we did the skydiving stunts and doubled up for the actors) we also doubled up for Toby Stephens who plays the bad guy called Gustav Graves, who parachuted into Buckingham palace with a Union Jack parachute. We also designed other parachute equipment with the special effects team as seen in the film.

The one man aircraft is called a switchblade and its highly manoeuvrable with no landing gear as it lands by parachute and both the pilots eject and land under there own parachutes.

This is the third James Bond film that we have worked on, you may remember the Parahawks in “The World is not Enough” which were deigned and flown by Allan and his team as bad guys trying to destroy Bond and Electra.

We have just finished working on the next Lara Croft film “Tomb Raider 2” and will be attempting to encourage future TV & Film work that has skydiving or parachuting sequences to be filmed in Spain where possible.
